Why we started this, and how we vet every tutor on the platform.
About UsWhether it's a question before you book, or something that needs looking into — we're here.
Contact UsWe started Six Minutes because MMI prep shouldn't cost hundreds of pounds or rely on generic question banks. It should be a real conversation with someone who's actually sat where you're about to sit.
Question banks and YouTube videos don't react to how you actually answer. Coaching agencies react to how you answer, but often charge premium package-only pricing with little control over who you work with. We built a marketplace instead — students pick the tutor, tutors set their own rate, and every profile is manually verified before it goes live.
Every tutor applies with their university or NHS email, and where relevant, their GMC number. We check each application by hand before a profile goes live, so students always know who they're booking. Beyond that, we stay out of the way — tutors set their own price and hours, and students choose freely.
Once your child approves your request, you'll be able to see their sessions and progress here, and book and pay for lessons on their behalf.
They'll need to approve this from their own dashboard before you can see anything.
Once you're set up, you can link to your child's student account (they'll need to approve it), pay for their sessions, and see how they're progressing.
Tell us where you are looking to apply so we can customize your dashboard layout and highlight matching tutors.

Everything you need to know about how tutoring on Six Minutes actually works — payment, cancellations, session flow, and recording policy.
You keep 80% of your advertised rate. The remaining 20% is our platform fee, which covers payment processing, marketing to secure a constant stream of students, and running the platform itself.
For example: if you list your rate as £30/hour, your take-home is £24/hour per session.
Payment for a session is held on the platform for 30 days after the session before you can request a payout for it from your dashboard. This is simply to provide a window in which a student can raise an issue with a lesson or request a refund, so an investigation can take place before money has already left the platform. Once 30 days have passed, a "Request payout" button appears next to that session on your dashboard. All payments are processed through a third-party site called Stripe. You will need to create an account with them to receive your payout. You will be prompted to do so when requesting your first payout.
Every reschedule request and cancellation is handled through your dashboard — you'll always be able to see the current status of a session there, including if a student has proposed a new time.
Do not contact students outside the platform — no personal phone numbers, social media, or messaging apps, at any point, for any reason. Many of our students are minors, and keeping every interaction on-platform is one of the protections we rely on for their safety. This applies even after a lesson is booked or completed.
If you need to cancel, what happens depends on whether you've confirmed the session yet:
Cancelling confirmed sessions repeatedly may affect your standing on the platform — please only confirm sessions you're able to make.
Please try to record every session including audio on both sides, where possible. This is not mandatory, but it's the single most useful thing you can have if a student ever disputes what happened in a lesson — you may be asked to provide it as evidence.
How recordings, complaints, and refunds work on Six Minutes.
Tutors are encouraged (though not required) to record sessions, audio on both sides, purely so there's a neutral record if a lesson is ever disputed.
If something went wrong with a session (the tutor didn't show, the lesson wasn't what you expected, anything else) use the Contact Us page.
What you're owed back depends on when, and by whom, a session is cancelled:
Refunds are processed automatically the moment a cancellation happens — you don't need to request one separately.
